About the Collection:
"Kindred post will always be this vault of our memories, where we went to communicate - whether through a letter, through the art shared by other artists, or through community events that allowed us to get to know each other better. This place of community is valuable and holds a place where actual change and understanding happen. Our ancestors have always created a space like this, which makes Kindred Post continuing that space so special - it is an echo of love from our ancestors carried on through space, people, art, and letters.
When I started drafting this" Letters from Our Ancestors" collection, I started thinking about the letters from my great-grandparents I went through as a child - reading the words of my great-grandparents, learning about who they were, their journey and what felt like this message that passed on long after they were here. This land - Lingít Aaní carries messages from our ancestors, the people of the land, the water, and the sky. The land has a way of communicating with us - holding the letters and words of our ancestors through all that it is. This collection is a letter from the people of the tides - when you find yourself by the water, listen to their words." - Chloey Cavanaugh
